How to prepare leeches for the therapy

The most crucial thing is to care about the microbiological purity of the animals. 1- 2 hours before the treatment procedure, leeches should be rinsed with pure water and then put into the jar. It is relevant to place the jar in the room temperature while waiting for the procedure. We also advise to add the solution of hirudosterile (special sterilizing preparation) to the water about 15 minutes before the beginning of the treatment. After being immersed for 10 – 15 minutes in this solution, leeches are ready to be used on a patient’s body.
